You started your business because you have a passion for what you do, or a passion to help people succeed in their businesses. Either way, as you serve that passion and serve other people, you see your business growing and expanding.

It’s exciting! But you have to find ways to keep up with it all. It’s impossible to continue to do things the way you’ve always done them. Finding ways to streamline and automate becomes a huge assist.

One of the biggest frustrations I hear, when owners are reaching this point in their business, is trying to keep up with the financial tracking. It’s not what you started this business to do, but it’s a necessary component of staying in business. So it’s time to figure out how to make it easier and more streamlined.

Did you start out using a bookkeeping software or an app? Or have you been doing it “old school” with a spreadsheet, or notebook. What may have worked in the beginning, might possibly bog you down, now that you’re busier, if you aren’t using the right method.

Bookkeeping programs have come a long way during the time I have been keeping books. So much is available and so easy to use these days. My favorite one is Quickbooks. Intuit offers a variety of options with varying degree of robust features, everything from mileage tracking to time tracking, payroll to inventory. Mobile Versions are also available!

If you’re not using something like Quickbooks Online, I would strongly suggest looking into it. Even if you’re in the beginning stages of the growth of your business, you’ll be setting yourself up for success if you have your finances in order.
